Rules: News Trading Policy

How the rules of the challenge and funded accounts work

Updated this week

News Trading is Allowed!

Trading during news events is permitted across all accounts. Traders are encouraged to manage risk appropriately during periods of increased market volatility.

General News Trading Guidelines

  • Trade Your Strategy:

You are allowed to trade through all news events, including Tier 1 events, as long as you maintain proper risk management.

  • Risk Awareness:

Trading during major news releases carries increased volatility and risk. Please ensure you are managing your trades responsibly, especially during periods of sharp market movement.

  • Order Execution Risks:

Be aware that during high-impact news events, market conditions may cause gaps, slippage, and data delays, which can affect order execution.

No Flattening Rules Required

  • You are no longer required to flatten positions before or after Tier 1 news events.

  • There are no timing restrictions around news releases (e.g., FOMC, CPI, Employment Reports).

Important Notes

  • Maintain Good Trading Practices:

Traders are still expected to demonstrate consistent and responsible trading behavior at all times, including during news events.

  • Order Execution Notice:

Please be aware that during news releases, market conditions may lead to irregularities in fills, spreads, and slippage.

  • Liability Notice:

Funded Futures Family is not liable for any discrepancies or issues that arise due to trading through high-volatility events in the simulated environment.

Purpose of This Policy Update

This update is designed to give traders greater freedom while still encouraging responsible and professional trading behavior.

We trust our traders to manage risk appropriately and maintain the integrity of the Funded Futures Family trading ecosystem.
