News Trading Policy

General News Trading Guidelines

News trading is permitted unless the specific rules for your account or plan state otherwise.

Certain account types may include additional restrictions around high-impact news events. Traders are responsible for reviewing the rules applicable to their specific account before trading during news releases.

  • Trade Your Strategy

If your account does not have a specific news trading restriction, you may trade through news events, including Tier 1 events, while maintaining appropriate risk management.

  • Account-Specific Restrictions

Some accounts or plans may have restrictions before, during, or after certain high-impact news events. Any applicable restriction will be outlined within the rules for that specific account.

  • Risk Awareness

Trading during major news releases carries increased volatility and risk. Traders should manage positions responsibly during periods of sharp market movement.

  • Order Execution Risks

During high-impact news events, market conditions may result in gaps, slippage, delayed data, or irregular fills that can affect order execution.

Flattening & Timing Rules

There is no universal flattening requirement across all Funded Futures Family accounts.

If your specific account does not include a news trading restriction, you are not required to flatten positions before or after Tier 1 news events and there are no additional timing restrictions around releases such as FOMC, CPI, or Employment Reports.

If your account includes a news trading restriction, you must follow the timing and position requirements outlined within that account's rules.

Important Notes

  • Know Your Account Rules

News trading requirements may vary by account or plan. Traders are responsible for understanding and following the rules associated with the account they are trading.

  • Maintain Good Trading Practices

Traders are expected to demonstrate consistent and responsible trading behavior at all times, including during news events.

  • Order Execution Notice

Market conditions surrounding news releases may result in irregularities in fills, spreads, slippage, or data delivery.

  • Liability Notice

Funded Futures Family is not liable for discrepancies, execution issues, slippage, data delays, or other issues that may arise from trading during high-volatility events in the simulated environment.
