If you're thinking of or need to disconnect Fyxer AI to do a clean reconnect, here’s what you need to know about how Gmail and Outlook handle Fyxer’s folders, labels, and categories.

Gmail Users

You don’t need to manually remove Fyxer AI labels. We automatically clean up old labels when you reconnect.

If you're disconnecting for good, Fyxer should remove labels when you disconnect. However, if some still appear in your inbox, this means something went wrong, and you can go ahead and delete them from your email client manually.

Outlook Users

This one’s a bit trickier, especially with the Outlook Desktop App.

When you disconnect from Fyxer, we remove:

  • Fyxer folders

  • Fyxer categories

We also clean these up when you reconnect, to start fresh.

Sometimes Outlook Desktop doesn’t sync correctly, and folders or categories might still appear - even though they’ve been deleted.

How to check if they really exist: Open Outlook Web (webmail)

  • If folders don’t show up there, they’ve already been deleted - they’re just stuck in the desktop app cache.

  • In that case, Outlook will usually sort itself out after some time.

Categories still showing up (in grey)?

If you’ve deleted a category but it still appears in grey on old emails:

  • That means it’s been deleted, but was previously applied to those messages

  • To fully remove it, you’ll need to manually remove it from the affected emails

💡Tip: If you plan to delete any Fyxer folders manually, make sure to move any emails out first - otherwise, deleting the folder may also delete the emails inside it. Always move important messages to your inbox or another folder before removing the Fyxer folders.
