A manufactured item is the item version of a recipe. It allows you to add vendor products, manage order guides, and update inventory, now treating the recipe like a packaged product for schools that order it from the central kitchen. For background on when and why to use a manufactured item, see Manufactured Items vs. Sub-Recipes.
Steps
Open the recipe you want to create a manufactured item from.
Enable the Manufactured Item toggle on the recipe page. Once enabled, a green box labeled Manufactured Food Item will appear with a hyperlink to the item version.
Click the green box to navigate to the item version. From there, you'll see a corresponding green box that links back to the recipe.
Within the item version, you can modify it like a normal item, including: adding vendor products, managing order guides, and updating inventory settings.
To remove the manufactured item, return to the recipe page and turn off the Manufactured Item toggle. This will remove the item version.
π‘ Note: School and production manager users will not see both versions. Which version they see on their production records depends on whether the manufactured item is on their order guide. See Manufactured Items vs. Sub-Recipes for details.
