What We're Working On

A rolling look at what's in flight at Gaia and what's coming next.

A rolling look at what's in flight at Gaia. Updated weekly.

Production records

  • Fix "Skip a week" to disable every day in the selected week.

  • Fix the production record calendar randomly showing days as disabled.

  • Paste one value into multiple selected cells at once on the production record table.

  • An optional signature or PIN when submitting a production record.

  • A tool to rename and hide production record columns, with different column setups per meal.

Orders

  • Shop a full week of recipes at once to move items to ready.

  • A predictable default sort on the orders list, with a visible sort indicator.

  • Clearer actions on the three-dot menu for order rows.

  • Warnings on Adjust and Close order that the action does not receive the order or change inventory.

  • Clearer order status wording for external vendors.

  • Better column layout on order and delivery detail tables at narrow widths, with Product as the first column.

  • Show the order guide name instead of its number when creating an order.

Self-serve reports

  • Self-serve the USDA Administrative Review report, so you can pull the menu, recipe prints, and item spec sheets for a date range yourself instead of asking us.

Nutrient analysis

Our 2026/27 USDA recertification, plus updates for the new rules taking effect this year.

  • Exclude saturated fat from fluid milk in weighted nutrient analysis, per the new USDA rule.

  • Carry the missing-value asterisk through to added sugars on recipe and nutrient analysis reports.

  • Fix the nutrient analysis report dropping dates for some week ranges.

Inventory and items

  • A delete button for recipe and item photos, plus clearer guidance on supported image formats and upload errors.

  • A separate Inactive state for items, distinct from items that are auto-archived.

  • Prevent breaking the item unit conversion graph when editing units.

  • Put shelf life behind its own setting instead of tying it to increments.

  • Move large Data View CSV exports server-side so big catalogs export reliably.

  • Fix crashes on certain data views.

  • Add measurement units to the inventory true-up dropdown.

Front of house (POS)

  • Fix POS terminals not syncing at their scheduled time, which left morning reports incomplete.

Central Kitchen

  • Edit central kitchen orders across all schools from one item-first view, with inline per-school quantities and bulk add, remove, and adjust.

  • Drag sub recipes onto any production record so they can be prepped ahead.

Vendors and access

  • Show the price per unit on the unit conversion when creating a vendor product.

  • Fix vendor product measurement units falling out of sync with their conversions.

Looking ahead to Q3

Bigger problems we're scoping now for next quarter.

  • Item management: smarter unit conversions, control over which units show up where, assigning a catalog item to an existing item, and item-level history.

  • Central kitchen and warehouse fulfillment: a clearer view for balancing and adjusting how orders are distributed across schools, with fuller fulfillment statuses.

  • Central kitchen production: manual additions and drag-and-drop rescheduling, better handling of sub-recipes and manufactured items, and pre-planning runs before orders exist.
