Why would I switch my students to Spiral Review?

Valuable cumulative and prioritized practice for each student; green icon instead of purple icon

Updated over 2 weeks ago

The button SWITCH TO SPIRAL REVIEW moves the entire class to Spiral Review. A teacher moves the class to Spiral Review to ensure students spend adequate time in Spiral Review. Spiral Review points encourage long-term retention of concepts.

Teachers may switch the class to Spiral Review for a warm-up at the beginning of class or extra practice at the end of class. At least half the points students earn should come from Spiral Review; those Spiral Review points could be in an assignment or from pure Spiral Review.

If a teacher has other assignments available from Assignments, students may choose to work on another incomplete assignment that should include Spiral Review points.

To use the SWITCH TO SPIRAL REVIEW button, choose CLASSES from the blue ribbon. SWITCH TO SPIRAL REVIEW is the second item in the middle gray column.

At a glance, the green Spiral Review icon (in the left column) shows that three classes are working in Spiral Review and one class is working on the assignment. The teacher will click SWITCH TO SPIRAL REVIEW to move the entire class to Spiral Review.

If the teacher has other assignments available AND the student has not completed those available assignments, the student may click the drop-down on left side to choose an available, incomplete assignment.
