How Fees Work
Each order placed through your e-commerce store includes a fee that is passed directly to the customer and applied toward your Carrot bill. The more orders you receive, the less you pay out of pocket β your order volume helps offset your Carrot bill.

Getting Set Up
Before your Carrot go-live, you'll need to create these fees inside your POS system. Once set up, Carrot will automatically push the fees to your cart β no extra steps required for your staff.
Creating the Fee Product
In your POS inventory, create a new product with the following settings:
Setting | Value |
Product Type | Non-taxable |
Inventory Quantity | High / abundant (e.g., 9,999+) |
Important: Carrot deducts 1 unit from this product for every online order placed and pushed to your POS. Make sure your inventory quantity stays high to avoid the product going out of stock.
