Sending International Donations through CAF America

Change partners with CAF America to seamlessly distribute donations to verified international nonprofits.

When the nonprofit is already listed on CAF America

  1. Contact Change to request that the international nonprofit be added.

  2. Change will create the nonprofit’s profile within our system.

  3. Once complete, we’ll provide you with the nonprofit ID.


When the nonprofit is not yet listed with CAF America

  1. Reach out to Change Customer Success Manager with the international nonprofit you would like added on CAF.

  2. The nonprofit will need to go through vetting process. See CAF America Fees & Timeline Expectations below for more information.

  3. After CAF America confirms that the nonprofit has been approved, Change will create their profile within our system.

  4. Once complete, we’ll provide you with the nonprofit ID.

CAF America Fees & Timeline Expectations

  • If the end charity is registered in Canada or the UK, their donation processing fee is 5%

  • No extra nonprofit vetting fees, since CAF has equivalency determination between their US entity and Canada/UK entities

  • For orgs in other countries (or not listed in CAF’s search):

    • $400 validation fee w/ Expenditure Responsibility

    • $1,000 validation fee w/ Equivalency Determination

  • For grants under $50K, CAF typically only requires expenditure responsibility

  • Vetting process can take 4-6 weeks

  • CAF America will invoice you directly for any fees
