Providing Donation Disclosures

This guide explains what information should be included and provides examples from existing partners.

Companies that partner with Our Change Foundation (OCF) should include clear disclosure language wherever donors make charitable contributions. This helps donors understand how their donation is processed, the role of Our Change Foundation, and what to expect after making a contribution.

Why include a disclosure?

Because donations are made to Our Change Foundation (EIN: 86-3353394) rather than directly to an individual nonprofit, donors should understand:

  • Who they are donating to

  • How their recommended nonprofit receives funding

  • When grants are distributed

Providing this information creates transparency and helps ensure your campaign complies with charitable fundraising regulations.

Where should disclosures appear?

We recommend including the disclosure anywhere a donor makes or commits to a charitable contribution, including:

  • Product pages

  • Checkout pages

  • Donation flows

  • Sweepstakes pages

  • Auction pages

  • Campaign landing pages

  • FAQs or Help Center articles

  • Terms of Service

  • Official Rules (for sweepstakes and promotions)

Standard disclosure template

The following language may be used in your Terms of Service, Official Rules, campaign page, or other legal documentation:

All donations are made to Our Change Foundation (EIN: 86-3353394), a registered Section 501(c)(3) public charity that makes grants to eligible nonprofit organizations recommended by donors. Our Change Foundation does not charge platform fees against donations and generally grants funds to the recommended nonprofit after confirming its eligibility. If the recommended nonprofit is no longer eligible to receive charitable grants, declines the grant, or is otherwise unable to receive funds, Our Change Foundation will direct the donation to another nonprofit with a substantially similar charitable mission. Grants are distributed within 365 days of receiving the contribution.

Examples from Our Change Foundation partners

Here are a few examples of how existing partners have included their disclosures messaging:

  • Charitybuzz

    • Charitybuzz includes OCF disclosures on auction pages by explaining that proceeds are first contributed to a donor-advised fund administered by Our Change Foundation before grants are made.

    • Their pages also provide additional context about Our Change Foundation's charitable mission, helping educate donors on why OCF is involved in the donation process.

  • Fandiem

    • Fandiem incorporates OCF disclosures throughout its platform by explaining how funds move from donors to nonprofits.

  • Propeller

    • Propeller includes a comprehensive disclosure within its sweepstakes Fine Print and Official Rules.

  • Hasbro

    • Hasbro uses a concise disclosure for product-based charitable campaigns.
