The Value of Manual Prospect Integration

Manually adding a prospect lets you quickly integrate high-value contacts — someone you just met at an event or found through a high-intent signal — into your automated outreach immediately.

Before getting started, make sure you have:

  • An active campaign ready to receive the prospect

  • The LinkedIn URL of the prospect

Add a prospect from a campaign

You can add a prospect straight from a standard or event campaign. The campaign you start from is filled in for you, so you don't need to select it again.

Step 1: Find the standard or event campaign you want to add the prospect to.

Step 2: Click the 3-dot menu on the campaign and select Add prospect.

Step 3: Paste the prospect's LinkedIn URL and click "Find". The campaign is already selected, so Step 4 below is done for you. Then continue with Step 5 below, depending on the campaign type.

Steps from the Prospects tab

Step 1: Go to the Prospects tab in your Spear dashboard.

Step 2: Click the '+ Add Prospect' button.

Step 3: Paste the prospect's LinkedIn URL into the field and click "Find". The system will verify the profile and pull available data.

Step 4: Click "Select campaign" and choose which campaign to add the prospect to.

Step 5: Depending on campaign type:

  • Custom Message campaigns — no trigger or message needed. Click the action button to finish.

  • Personalized Message campaigns — add a trigger and write a custom message, then:
    • Add & send request — sends immediately
    • Monitor — system finds a trigger and prospect appears in Suggestions later

Tips & Best Practices

  • Always review the message tone and placeholders before sending

  • Use this for contacts where you have a clear, recent reason to reach out (event meeting, specific intent signal)

  • Confirm the prospect fits the strategic goal of the campaign you're assigning them to
