Why is my LinkedIn profile stuck or taking too long to connect?

Written by Camila

If your profile has been connecting for more than 10 minutes without completing the connection, here's what you need to know.

What's normal

  • Connection normally takes 2–5 minutes

  • Up to 10 minutes is acceptable — no action needed

  • The CS team is automatically alerted if it exceeds 10 minutes

Common causes

  • Reconnecting too fast — if you deleted and re-added the profile within 30 seconds, the previous session may still be active and cause a stuck state

  • Wrong password — double-check your LinkedIn credentials

  • 2FA not completed — check if there's a pending verification banner at the top of the screen

  • Corporate firewall — some company networks block or intercept the connection. Contact your IT team to whitelist getspear.ai

What to do

  1. Go to Org Settings → Profiles and check the profile status

To find Org Settings: Click the gear icon at the bottom-left of the sidebar — not your profile picture or name at the top.

  2. If it shows waiting or Automation paused — contact your CSM or support

  3. Do not delete and re-add the profile — this can make things worse. Wait for the team to assist

What NOT to do

  • Do not disconnect and reconnect within 30 seconds

  • Do not delete the profile while it's still processing

  • Do not refresh or close the browser repeatedly
