Trail's Interactive Mortgage Recommendation page (essentially a webpage on which you can present your mortgage advice to a client) functions by you building a specific order of "Widgets" together.

We'll delve into how these widgets work and how to create your Mortgage Recommendation page from these! We will also link you to how to save a particular order of widgets that works well into a Template 👍

In this article you will learn:

  • What are 'widgets' and how do they work for the Recommendation page?

  • Types of widgets

  • Adding Widgets to the Recommendation page

  • Editing the Recommendation page

  • Templates - saving a set order of widgets you wish to use again!

What are 'widgets'?

A Widget is a set of information that will be displayed to your client in a predetermined layout. In this article, you will learn what widgets Trail has to offer as well as their uses.

Multiple widgets are used together to build up your custom recommendation page for your client.

See how the above are corresponding widgets that make up the resulting Interactive Recommendation page:

The widgets can be edited by clicking on them. If you see a red dot next to the widget, it's not completed:

Types of widgets

  1. Static Widget
A widget containing an image, title and text. This is the most common kind of widget and one that can be edited entirely.

  2. Dynamic Widget
Widgets such as calculators are considered to be dynamic as they have inputs that can be changed by you or the client.

  3. Referral Widget
Widgets that allow you to give the client a way to connect easily with your referral partners.

  4. Document Widget
A widget that gives the client the ability to download a document you want them to view or sign.

Adding Widgets to the Recommendation page

1. Access the Mortgage Interactive Recommendations page

Find out how to do this here.

2. Click the 'Add New Widget' button

Clicking this will allow you to choose which kind of widget you would like to add to the recommendation page.

3. Select if you would like to add an existing widget or a custom widget

Choosing an existing widget will give you the option to edit the widget information before putting it in the recommendation page.

Choosing to create a custom widget will allow you make a new widget from scratch.

Editing the Recommendation page

Once you have checked the recommendation page (do this by clicking 'view page'), there may be some changes you would like to make so the page is better. From the Mortgage Review page, you can:

Edit widgets

To edit a widget, simply click on the name of the widget. This will open the widget's modal, where you can change the information you wish to show your clients.

Delete widgets

To remove a widget from the recommendation page, click the three dots on the right side of the widget, and select 'delete'.

Change the order of widgets

To reorder the widgets on your recommendation page, simply click and hold the three lines on the left side of the widget, and drag the widget to where you would like it to appear on the page.

Templates

If you like the recommendation page you have created using widgets, you can save the page as a template to reuse with other clients in the future.
