Use this article to upload your Declaration and Letter of Authority (LOA) into Trail, and to see when each document is shown to your clients during the fact find stages.
Where do I upload the Declaration and Letter of Authority?
1. Open your Profile personal settings.
2. Under each document's heading, click the "Click here to upload..." button and select your file.
Don't have a Declaration of your own? Directly underneath the Declaration heading you'll always find a download button. It downloads Trail's Declaration template with your name and FSP number automatically filled in; just upload that and you're set.
3. Once a document is uploaded, the icons under its heading change. You can Download a copy to check what you uploaded, or Remove it to upload a newer version.
When does my client see the Declaration?
Once you've uploaded a Declaration in your Profile settings, it's included as a required document when you request documents as part of your Mortgage Advice.
It's added when you click Reset Requests on a client's Documents page. Resetting requests resets the list of requested documents and re-adds everything still missing, and because the Declaration is always missing on the first pass, your first reset will always add it.
Your client can then download a copy of your Declaration from the client portal while they're uploading documents to you, and upload a signed copy back. The signed copy shows up on the profile's Documents page.
When does my client see the Letter of Authority?
The document you upload as your Letter of Authority becomes available to your client during the Insurance Fact Find, when they're asked about their existing policies.
If your client selects that they'd like you, as their adviser, to request policy information directly from their insurance provider, they can download a copy of your LOA, sign it, and upload the signed copy back into the client portal.
Once your client completes the Insurance Fact Find, their signed copy shows up on the profile's Documents page.
