Step 1: Request Your Data

Advisors Assistant does not allow you to manually download your data. You will need to request your data from Advisors Assistant directly. It will take around two weeks for them to send you your data. 

Template for the email

“Please can you send me a comprehensive copy of all of my data in Advisors Assistant? I would like this as a database backup file. Please can you let me know when this will be available?”

Advisors Assistant will send you two emails

  1. Email 1 will contain a link to download your database file

  2. Email 2 will contain your password

Please forward both of these emails to support@gettrail.com

Please also download a copy of your data yourself and store this securely.

Step 3: Book in a Data Consultation Call

Once we receive your data, it would be great to discuss how you were using your existing CRM. One of our Data Importing team will be in touch when they've had a chance to review the data received. Advisors Assistant’s data structure is generally straightforward to work with, however we need to group people into Profiles within Trail based on their household information in Advisors Assistant. This will need to be discussed. It is also good to know if there are any groups of people or types of information that you do not want imported into Trail, such as old records of contact information that are not relevant to your business
