Note: We strongly recommend you maintain access to Xplan for an additional month during the import process in case the data needs to be referenced or further data needs to be provided.

Step 1: Request Your Data

Xplan does not allow you to manually download your data. You will need to request your data from iRess directly. Receiving your data will take anywhere from 2-8 weeks. At the moment they seem to have a high number of data requests for clients who are leaving (I wonder why!).

Template for the email

“Please can you send me a comprehensive copy of all of my data in Xplan? I would like this as a database backup file. Please can you let me know when this will be available?”

Step 2: Send Iress two IPv4 addresses

iRess will schedule your data export and request your IP address to be able to download your database file. They have good processes and will send you instructions to follow.

You will need to send them your IP address and our IP address so we can both download your data.

  1. Our IP address is 123.255.58.49

  2. You can find your IP address here

Once iRess has prepared your data, please forward your download link to support@gettrail.com

Please also download a copy of your data yourself and store this securely.

Step 4: Book in a Data Consultation Call

Once we receive your data, it would be great to discuss how you were using Xplan. One of our Data Importing team will be in touch when they've had a chance to review the data received. Xplan is customisable and comprehensive. If you are making use of custom fields, our default database mapping will not pick this up. You need to give us an overview of how you use Xplan so that we can take this into consideration.
