The following information is specifically for Gmail / Gsuite users.

Turn on your 2 Step Verification

To successfully connect your Gmail with Trail for your Email integration, you will need to turn on 2-Step Verification on your Google account and generate an App password.

To check your 2FA is turned on, you can go here - https://myaccount.google.com/security and scroll down to the "Signing in to Google" area:

NOTE: This option may not be available if the admin of your domain has disabled this for your organisation. If you are having trouble accessing the 2FA settings, contact the IT provider who originally set up your organisation's email addresses.

Generating an App Password

1. Make sure you log into the Gmail/ Gsuite account which will be connected with the integration.

Once your 2 Step Verification is Turned ON for your Google/ Gmail account, you can easily generate a special password which can be used to set up the integration at this link: https://myaccount.google.com/apppasswords

2. Click on the dropdown that says Select app and choose Other

3. Enter a name so that you can identify which piece of software is using this password and click GENERATE

4. Copy the password generated (the string of text in the yellow box):

Note: You do not need to remember this password

5. Paste this pack into Trail where you're setting up your Email Integration:

6. Click Next and you should be connected!
