Connecting your email to Trail is a breeze with our newly implemented OAuth2 integration method! This is Google's preferred way to authenticate and allow connections from other websites or applications (such as Trail).
Here's how to get connected:
1. Navigate to Settings - Email Integration and click on Connect with Gmail
2. The Google Sign-In modal will appear, and you will need to select the email account you would like to connect with Trail's email integration. If you don't see the email account you want to use, you'll need to enter "Use Another Account" and sign in.
3. Follow the prompts to get signed in. There will be 2 main areas to allow Trail to access:
Sharing your basic account information such as your name and email address
Being able to access (read), compose and send emails from your Gmail account.
βNote: Trail DOES NOT delete any emails in any way from your Gmail. This wording of the permissions is set by the Google OAuth2 process, and it covers more than the extent of what Trail does.
4. Once you have done this, you should be connected! π

You will be redirected to the email integration setup page again, but it should look like this when you're connected:
After connecting, you may recieve a 'Security Alert' email from Google to let you know you've granted access to Trail - this is standard and is to confirm that it was indeed you who allowed the access:
