As your client base grows, so too does your client database in Trail. This can be tricky to manage over time and especially with larger organisations, you may start to notice that contacts are missing phone numbers, emails, or other information that you regularly use in your workflow

You can use the Advanced Filter to essentially "audit" what's missing so that you have a much easier time filling in the gaps πŸ‘

Let's start with this example: you want to locate all contacts that currently do not have a phone number in your system.

Here is how you would set up the Advanced Filter - first go to your Contacts tab and make sure you're creating the filter under Contacts (as opposed to Profiles)

Then, create an Advanced Filter with the following parameters:

Remember to Save your filter and then Apply it!

Once you've applied the filter, you may then see how many contacts in the system which have been picked up as not having a phone number. In addition, you may export the list to an excel sheet to further edit by clicking the loud icon.

Another great example of this filter being of use would be to find all contacts without emails assigned to their accounts.

Again, you would jump into your Contacts tab (not Profiles).

Then create an Advanced Filter as below:

Once Saved and Applied, you'll be able to see how many contacts do not have emails set up:
