KiwiSaver Statement of Advice Templates allow you to set up your own dynamic advice documents that can be adapted for a variety of common client situations. The benefit of creating your own custom template or even multiple unique templates is that you will have the ability to make it customised in the way you want for your clients!
If you are familiar with the Insurance SOA Templates in Trail, the Kiwisaver ones follow the same setup!
NOTE: To access KiwiSaver SOA templates, you will need business admin enabled for your account. The Trail Support Team can enable this for you with a director or manager's authorisation β

How to Create SOA Templates from Scratch
Click into your Settings and then KiwiSaver Settings - there you'll find all of your KiwiSaver SOA Templates:
From here, you'll have access to a variety of options:
Create New Template - This button will allow you to start customising your own unique template from scratch β¨ All new templates will use the Default SOA Template to begin with, and you can add/remove pages as you like.
After you click Create New Template, you may add in your own name for the template and a short description about it. Of course, you may always edit these later.
Editing SOA Template Pages
Our SOA Template system gives you the full freedom to edit your dynamic advice document as you like π Here's what you can do and how to perform each action:
Adding New Pages
To add a new page to your SOA template, scroll to the bottom of the current template that is selected and click + Add Page, seen here:
You'll then be presented with these options:
Text Page - Insert a blank Text Page that is free to be edited however you like!
Document - Insert a PDF file that will be included in the SOA itself every time that template is loaded.
Document Placeholder - Insert a "placeholder" for you to upload a PDF file at that point of the SOA template. This option allows you to upload unique documents per SOA that is loaded with this template.
Default Pages - Insert a previously deleted Default Page if you would like to add one back.
Deleting Pages
To delete a page, mouse over the page you'd like removed and click the little trash icon here:
Then click the Delete option after that:
β CAUTION β Please be careful when deleting any custom edited pages. Trail can restore your template's default pages, but if you delete a custom page, it will be gone forever.
Re-Ordering Pages
To re-order your pages, click and drag them using the hamburger style menu to the left of their names, like this:
Editing Existing Pages
To edit a page that already exists in your template, mouse over it and click the Edit button here:
You'll then be taken into the editor for that particular page, where you can add/remove/edit all information as you wish β¨
To add to remove a widget from a text page, you may click this toggle here above the widget:

Managing Your Templates
Over time, you may grow a bit of a collection of templates, especially if there are multiple advisers in your business all creating their own. We've mimicked the Insurance SOA Template management system so you can keep on top of all of your custom KiwiSaver SOA templates π
Clicking Manage Templates will bring up a full list of all of your created KiwiSaver SOA templates. From here, you can either duplicate a template or delete it fully:
Duplicated templates will have a (Copy) added to the end of their titles so that it's easy to discern them from the original.
