By enabling 2FA for your Giftbit account, you are adding an additional level of security that helps to safeguard against unauthorized access. This feature provides an added layer of protection that strengthens your account's defenses and helps to ensure that only authorized individuals can access your account. For 2FA, you can set up SMS/Text message, Authenticator app, or both.

Setting up SMS/Text message

  1. Log into your Giftbit account and go into the "Account Overview"

    1. This is accessed in the bottom left of the Giftbit App

  2. Once there, click the pencil by "Multi Factor Authentication" then add for "SMS/Text Message"

  3. Confirm your password, then following the instructions to add your phone number

  4. Enter the code sent to your phone number, and you are all set!

💡Note: SMS/Text message does not allow for 14 day device memory, so you will need to receive a code any time you log in.

Setting up Authentication App (TOTP)

  1. Download a suitable authentication app to your device

    1. Google Authenticator, and Microsoft Authenticator are a couple common options.

  2. Log into your Giftbit Account and go into "Account Overview"

    1. Same place as picture above

  3. Once there, click the pencil by "Multi Factor Authentication" then add for "Authenticator App"

  4. Confirm your password, then open your authenticator app and scan the QR code.

    1. If sharing an account, save the QR code so others can scan it, then delete it once done.

  5. Once done, use the code on your authenticator app to confirm and you are set. The authenticator is now set up!

💡Note: Authenticator app allows Giftbit to remember your device for 14 days.
