The custom analytics tab displays the sum total of all geometries in the project whether the layers are visible or not. This is so you can split calculated results into digestible groups and view them side-by-side.
Select Grouping
Analytics reports a roll up of the entire project by default. Sub-divide the totals by any property within the project.
Click the "group by" drop down in the top right of the analytics report screen. Select an option. Popular ways to group include Layer, Layer Group, or Usage.
Grouping splits the analytics report into columns. Each column header is a value of the selected grouping property. The calculated values are based on the geometries included within each group.
For instance, this report is grouped by Layer. Each column represents the values calculated from geometries on the Layer listed in the column header.
Click and drag a column header to change the column order.
Expand the panel if there are too many groups to see in the view.
Scroll left/right to see categories that are off the edge of the visible screen.
The selected grouping will apply to all categories on all tabs of your analytics report.
This grouping selection also changes the area type chart grouping.
Adjust the analytics settings to hide any unwanted groups.
Break out by Usages
Another option for splitting your calculated results is to toggle on "subcategorize by usage" at the category level.
The subcategorized report splits to show the values for every usage in the project.
You can simultaneous apply a grouping and subcategorize by usage:
