How to Round Corners

How to add a radius, bezier, or chamfered corner to a geometry

Written by Holly Conrad Smith

Round the corners of a building footprint, a plaza, or a road edge to match a real design or a council setback rule. The quickest way is to set two properties on the geometry. For more control, use the Round Corners flow.

Round corners with properties

Set Corner Radius and Corner Type on a polygon or line to round every corner of the shape.

  1. Select a polygon or line on the map.

  2. In the Property Palette, click Add Property.

  3. Search for Corner Radius and add it.

  4. In the Geometry group, set the radius. A radius of 0 leaves the corners sharp.

  5. Set Corner Type to fillet for a round curve or chamfer for a straight cut. Fillet is the default.

The radius uses your project units, such as meters or feet. One radius and one corner type apply to every corner of the shape.

Set Corner Radius and Corner Type on a usage in the Usage Editor to round the corners of every geometry with that usage.

Round corners with a flow

Use the Round Corners flow when you need more control, such as a bezier curve or rounding only the inner or outer corners.

Add Round Corners to a geometry

  1. Select a polygon or line on the map.

  2. Click the lightning bolt icon to open the Flow Manager.

  3. Click Add a quick transform.

  4. Find Round Corners in the list.

  5. Click Add flow.

OR

Draw a new geometry with Round Corners already applied. Click the Draw new button on the Round Corners card, choose Polygon, Rectangle, or Line, and draw on the map.

Build your own corner logic with the round corners node in the Flow Builder.
