What is a gift intent with an unknown status?

Donations marked with an "Unknown" status in your dashboard represent a donation intent from a provider that DAFpay is not yet integrated with.

Grants with an "Unknown" status are referred to as Offline Donations.

Donors can make a donation intent via DAFpay if they select a provider that DAFpay is not yet integrated with. In these cases, the donor is asked to provide their intended gift amount and contact information. DAFpay then redirects the donor to the selected provider's portal with instructions on how to complete the gift.

When the donor is redirected to their DAF provider, we record the provided information and update your dashboard accordingly. You will also receive an email from Chariot informing your organization that a grant intent was just submitted via DAFpay.

Because DAFpay is not yet fully integrated with the selected provider, we cannot confirm the status of the gift, which is why it will be marked as "Unknown" in your dashboard.

Use the provided contact information to followup with the donor directly to confirm that they submitted their intended gift.

How are offline donations sent to my organization?

Offline donations are sent to your organization directly from the DAF provider. However, because DAFpay is not directly integrated with these providers, the grant will not have a Tracking ID or note that you can use to reconcile the gift.

Instead, you can use the provided contact information in your dashboard to confirm the donation or followup with the donor directly.
