What is a gift intent with an unknown status?

Donations marked with an "Unknown" status in your dashboard represent a donation intent from a provider that DAFpay is not yet integrated with (i.e., Disconnected Provider).

Offline donations are sent to your organization directly from the DAF provider and should arrive with a Tracking ID that can be used for reconciliation.

Donors can make a gift intent via DAFpay if they select a disconnected provider.

In these cases, the donor is asked to provide their intended gift amount and contact information. After submitting their gift intent, donors will receive instructions both within the DAFpay modal and via email, guiding them on how to complete their donation directly with their provider, using the provided Tracking ID.

Chariot records the provided information and updates your dashboard accordingly. You will also receive an email from Chariot informing your organization that a grant intent was just submitted via DAFpay

Note: Because DAFpay is not yet fully integrated with the selected provider, we cannot confirm the status of the gift, which is why it will be marked as "Unknown" in your dashboard.

How are offline donations sent to my organization?

Offline donations are sent to your organization directly from the DAF provider and should arrive with a Tracking ID in the grant message or purpose field that can be used for reconciliation.

You can also use the provided contact information in your dashboard to confirm the donation or follow up with the donor directly.
