How do I Manage a Course Calendar?

Updated over 11 months ago

Course Calendars

From anywhere in your workspace, press on the workspace name in the top navigation [1] then press Calendar [2]. If you're not in the workspace you want to manage course calendars for you can use the workspace switcher to quickly change to another workspace.

View All Calendars

From the calendar you can see the current workspace default academic calendar (not pictured) or view other academic calendars [1]. Press Manage Academic and Course Calendars [2] to view all calendars, create new calendars, or edit existing calendars.

Create New or Edit Existing

Press Course Calendars [1] to switch to course calendars. Press Create Course Calendar [2] to create a new course calendar, or search for and select an existing calendar [3] to edit that calendar. The interfaces for creating a new calendar or editing an existing calendar are the same.

Subject, Course, and Name

Set the academic calendar this course calendar is based on, as well as the subject and course the calendar will be used in. Enter or edit the name of the course calendar. If this is a new course calendar you can distribute the units across the year by pressing Calculate Course Calendar.

Non-instructional Days

Non-instructional days can be added to prevent units from being assigned to those days. Non-instructional days can be labeled as anything, can span multiple days, and can be one of three types: Holiday (which appear in gold on the calendar), Assessment (which appear in red on the calendar) or Teacher Workday (which appear in gray on the calendar). Non-instructional days from the academic calendar are automatically added to the course calendar and cannot be edited. Additional non-instructional days can be added.

Units

Units taught in this course will appear on the course calendar. The start and end date are estimated based on the academic calendar and the suggested duration of the unit. Edits can be made to the start and end date of any unit, but units cannot overlap each other, or be set to start or end on non-instructional days.

Save

Make sure you save your new course calendar, or the edits made to the existing course calendar.
