Scorecards exist to give you a quick view into the outcomes that are most important to you and your team. Think of outcomes in Elate as the real-time business metrics or KPIs that give visibility into the health of your business and/or the progress toward your objectives (i.e. as a business, what are you trying to change or improve). Scorecards bring all of your business’ most important outcomes together (such as ARR, NRR, etc.) in a dashboard view, allowing you to see them all in one place.

Scorecards are available at the team and company level, allowing you to organize your outcomes in a way that makes the most sense for you and your team!

Where Can I Find Scorecards?

Scorecards are available at the team and company level. We'll start by talking about company scorecards.

To find your company scorecard, navigate to your main company page in Elate. At the top, select the tab named Scorecards.

You will then be taken to your main dashboard scorecard.

This is where you can view those important business-as-usual metrics at the company level. Keep in mind any outcomes you add or link here are visible to anyone who has access to Elate.

As mentioned earlier, each team also has a scorecard. To find a team level scorecard, use the left hand panel to select a team. You will now be on the team overview page for the team you selected. Select the Scorecard tab.

You are now on your team level scorecard.

Adding a New Scorecard

On the main company scorecard, you may find it helpful to add a new scorecard. Adding a new scorecard will allow you to toggle between the Main Dashboard and the new scorecard using the arrow shown in the screenshot below.

To add a new scorecard, select the 3 dot menu next to Main Dashboard then select Add Scorecard.

You will then be prompted to name your scorecard. Once you enter a name, select the blue Create button in the bottom right corner of the pop up.

You will then be taken to the new scorecard you just created. Here you can add outcomes or embed a dashboard.

Use the dropdown arrow next to the scorecard name to toggle back and forth to your other scorecards!

Please note you are only able to add new scorecards at the company level, not the team level.

Creating a New Section on a Scorecard

There may be times where you need to add a new section to your scorecard. This could be to embed a dashboard or to split up how you are viewing KPIs. If you already have outcomes on a scorecard but you would like to embed a dashboard, you will need to create a new section. This will create a new tab at the top of your scorecard so that you can toggle back and forth on what information you want to see. New sections can be added to team and company level scorecards.

To create a new section, navigate to the team or company scorecard that you want to add a section to. Please note this is the same process at the team and company level.

In the top right corner, select the blue +Add button. From here, select New Section.

You will then be prompted to name your section. Once you are ready, hit the blue Submit button in the bottom corner.

You will then be taken to the new section you just created.

From here, you are able to embed a dashboard or begin adding or linking new outcomes. To learn more about embedding dashboards, check out our embed articles!

Adding an Outcome to a Scorecard

Ready to add an outcome to a scorecard? Navigate to a scorecard! Select the blue +Add button in the top right corner.

Then select New Outcome

You will then be prompted to name your outcome, assign a team responsible, an owner, and select which chart you want to add. Once you've entered the information, click the blue Create button in the bottom right corner.

Your outcome will now be populated on your scorecard.

From here, you're able to update your goals and current numbers for this outcome, or connect it to a plugin or embed! Check out our integrations and embeds and our Guide to Outcomes to learn more!

Linking Outcomes to a Scorecard

If you already created outcomes in Elate that you want to be shown on a scorecard, you can easily link them for visibility!

To start, navigate to a specific team scorecard or company scorecard and select the blue Link Outcome button in the top right.

You will then be prompted to find the outcome you want to link. You are able to see recent outcomes if you have any or are able to search for the outcome by name.

Select the outcome you want to link and then hit the blue Link button in the bottom corner. Your outcome will now be linked to your scorecard!

Tips for Leveraging Scorecards

As you begin thinking about the best way to leverage scorecards, here are some helpful tips to keep in mind:

  • Create a company dashboard with your top outcomes (KPIs or business as usual metrics) that will be measured indefinitely! Outcomes on a scorecard are oftentimes measured year after year and/or are top operating metrics that may not be measured on an objective. This gives you and your team line of sight into those important outcomes for the health of your business.
