What are GoJoe Rewards?

GoJoe Rewards are our performance-based incentives and rewards system that motivates healthy habits, social connection, and regular activity. They include:-

  • Built-in Rewards – available with all Reward or Protect plans, including discounts on global brands and premium content from partners like Les Mills, House of Wellbeing, and Caravan.

  • Incentive Add-Ons – optional extras that let users earn reward points for healthy
behaviours, redeemable for vouchers from leading global brands.

How do I get access to reward points?

To earn and redeem reward points:-

  1. Your organization must be on the Reward Plan or Protect Plan; and

  2. They must add either:

    • a Tiered Reward Points Add-On (which funds monthly points earnings)

    • or a Recognition Pot (for flexible one-off rewards)

Without an Add-On in place, you can still join challenges, but won’t earn redeemable reward points.

What are reward points and how do I earn them?

Reward points are earned by getting active, engaged and healthy in the app. You may earn them automatically by:

  • Getting active - logging daily steps, workouts or other exercise

  • Getting social - joining clubs, posting content, supporting teammates

  • Getting healthy - completing health assessments, reaching goals, competing in
    challenges or leagues

You don’t need to do anything special - just sync your wearable or log activity in the app. GoJoe automatically calculates challenge points and reward points in the background.

What reward point options are available?

Organizations can choose from three standard tiers or configure their own reward structure:

Tier

Max. Monthly Value (pp/pm)

Cost (pp/pm)

Tier 1

$2

$1

Tier 2

$10

$4

Tier 3

$20

$8

They can also:

  • Add a Recognition Pot for ad hoc shout-outs and MVP awards

  • Combine tiers and recognition

  • Create a custom value structure

For use in different currencies, the value remains the same. For example £2pp/pm max monthly value cost £1pp/pm.

The Recognition Pot for spot reward and recognition is valued at a $1:$1 value-cost ratio.

What can I redeem reward points for?

Reward points can be spent on digital vouchers with 3,000+ global brands in 150+ countries, including:

  • Amazon

  • Apple

  • Airbnb

  • Spotify

  • Starbucks

  • Uber / Uber Eats

  • Target, Walmart, Tesco, ASOS, Nike, Adidas

  • Charities and good causes

The exact catalogue depends on your location and your organisation’s setup.

How do I redeem reward points?

In the app, go to:
Locker → Rewards → Redeem

You can browse by category or brand, then tap to claim a voucher. Rewards are fulfilled instantly and delivered in-app or via email.

What happens if I don’t use my reward points?

Points expire six months after the month they’re earned. For example, points earned in January expire at the end of July. You can view expiry info in-app. This keeps the programme fair and prevents points being stored up indefinitely.

Do users get double the rewards for the money invested by a sponsoring organisation?

Not quite - here’s how it works.

When we talk about “double the rewards,” we mean that users can earn up to double the amount your organisation invests, but you only fund what’s realistically needed, not the full theoretical value.

For example:
Just to clarify - with Tier 1, the $1 per person per month (or $1pppm) funding is based on the understanding that not everyone will earn the full amount. So while employees can earn up to $2 each month, you’re only funding what’s likely to be used. The same logic applies to the other higher incentive tiers (the Tier 2 earning potential is $10pppm and Tier 3 is $20pppm).

Example:
Let’s say you have 100 employees on Tier 1:

  • Each person can earn up to $2 in reward points each month.

  • You pre-fund at $1pppm, totalling $100 per month.

  • In Month 1, 10 users earn and redeem the full $2 - the pot reduces by $20.

  • The rest of the pot remains intact and rolls over month to month.

  • If your reward pot starts to run low, you choose whether to top it up - there are no automatic charges.

That’s how the “double value” model works - users can receive up to twice the value of your investment, but the cost to you is based on actual usage, not maximum entitlement, and the incentive pot can roll-over to prevent unused waste (subject to an admin fee).

What if my organization’s reward budget runs low?

Each organization has a set budget for reward points. If redemptions hit 95% of the available pot (based on the cash amount that an organization has invested) during the contract period, GoJoe may pause redemptions. The organisation can then:

  1. Top up the pot

  2. Upgrade to a higher tier

  3. Wait until the new contract cycle begins

The aim is to ensure fairness and avoid overspend, while giving full flexibility to the employer.

What happens if I leave or my organization ends their plan?

You must have an active Reward or Protect Plan with reward points enabled to redeem points. If your organisation ends its contract or removes the Add-On, unredeemed points may be forfeited.

Are reward points the same as challenge points?

Not quite.

  • Challenge points are for fun and competition - they drive leaderboards

  • Reward points earn you vouchers and are tied to employer-funded incentives

Both are calculated automatically as you engage with the app - no need to track them manually.

Can my organisation control which rewards appear?

Yes – employers and sponsoring organizations can:

  • Choose which brands or categories appear in the catalogue

  • Add filters (e.g. wellness only)

  • Disable incentives entirely (if required)

Do unused reward budgets roll over?

Yes - any unused reward funds may roll into the next contract year or plan period if renewed. A small admin fee applies: 15% of unused funds or £500/$500, whichever is greater.

How can an admin check usage or balances?

Admins can view anonymized:

  • Reward balances

  • Redemption data

  • Insights & statistics

All via the GoJoe Performance Hub, or by contacting their Customer Success Manager or Implementation Specialist.

Are vouchers taxable?

GoJoe incentives and rewards are performance-based and must be earned - not gifted or guaranteed. They are fulfilled directly by GoJoe and only issued when users complete verified activity or engagement, such as workouts, steps, or challenge participation.

Because rewards are earned, non-cash, and centrally fulfilled by GoJoe, they are not typically considered taxable income or employee benefits.

Reward points have no cash value and can only be redeemed within the GoJoe platform for non-cash vouchers with global household brands - including Amazon, Airbnb, Apple, Spotify, Uber - or for charitable donations.

However, employers, sponsoring organisations and/or users remain responsible for assessing any tax, payroll, or reporting obligations in their jurisdiction. GoJoe does not provide tax, legal, or financial advice, and we recommend seeking independent guidance if unsure.

I have an issue with a voucher. What do I do?

Please contact GoJoe Support in-app or email help@gojoe.com. We’ll look to resolve any voucher issues ASAP.
