Do I need to start/ stop activities on my wearable for them to come across to GoJoe?

Yes – in most cases, you do.

GoJoe is primarily about planned workouts rather than passive movement, so to sync successfully:

  • Your activity must be logged as an actual workout (e.g. run, walk, cycle, swim, or any of the 60+ supported types) on your wearable.

  • You’ll usually need to press start, stop, and save (or ‘done’) on your device for it to register and sync.

  • Some wearables may auto-detect workouts and send them to GoJoe if they meet the requirements.

📱 No wearable? No problem. Use GoJoe’s in-app GPS tracker or manual upload option to record your workouts directly.

🚶 What about steps?

  • Daily steps now count too — GoJoe gives credit for any kind of movement.

  • Steps can be recorded even without a wearable if you're using your phone’s Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android).

  • Don’t worry — steps from tracked workouts aren’t double-counted.
