Tags & Notes - Coming Soon

Cleaner profiles. Richer context. Everything your team needs to know about a pet — right where they already look.

Written by Huong Pham

❗ Coming soon. Tags & Notes is rolling out across pet and owner profiles in the next few weeks. Here's a look at what's on the way — and what it'll mean for your team day to day. ❗

WHY WE BUILT THIS

You told us your pet and pet owner profiles were getting crowded.

When the only way to capture a detail was to create another tag, profiles filled with near-duplicates — "Allergic to Peanuts," "Allergic to Carrots," "Allergic to Chicken" — making it harder for your team to spot what actually matters in the moment.

So we've unified Tags and Notes into one system. Now your tags stay clean and categorical, while the detail lives in notes attached right to them. One Allergy tag — and every specific your team needs, one hover away.

WHAT IT MEANS FOR YOU

Context at a glance. Staff see the most relevant note the moment they hover over a tag — no clicking, no digging.

Cleaner profiles. Keep a tight, reusable set of tags without losing the specifics that make each pet unique.

A living history. Every note logged under a tag builds a timeline — filter “Mischievous” to see every incident over time.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Tags now lead the profile

Pet and owner profiles surface tags right at the top of the page. Alerts always appear first, so the most critical information is impossible to miss. Click any tag to jump straight to its notes.

2. Hover for instant context

Hover over any tag to preview its most recently updated note, along with the date — perfect for passing context between shifts without opening a single menu. Available on pet profiles, owner profiles, and the dashboard pet popover.

3. One home for tags and notes

The Tags & Notes section keeps everything organized — tags grouped by type, and a running list of notes each tied to its tag. Click a tag to filter the list, or sort notes by date to trace a behavior over time.

Notes carry their own tag, date, and location — so “May need sedative” lives under Nervous, and every escape attempt logs under Escape Artist.

4. Adding a note takes seconds

Write the note, then optionally associate it with a tag — search and select from your facility’s existing tags. A note can stand on its own, or add context to the tag it belongs with.

The Add Note flow — capture the detail, then link it to the right tag.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

  • A note can carry one tag, and a single tag can hold many notes — that’s how your history builds over time.

  • Notes are shared across shared locations, so context follows the pet wherever they’re seen.

  • Removing a tag from a profile clears its associations but keeps the notes themselves — nothing is lost.

  • Tags are managed at the admin level, so they stay consistent and reusable across your team.

No action needed

Tags & Notes rolls out across pet and owner profiles soon. Your existing tags and notes carry over automatically — you’ll simply find them better organized and easier to act on. Questions, or want a walkthrough for your team? Reach out to our support team any time.
