Rule Engine - Hide, Call to Book, and Waitlists

Hide offers pets can’t book, set rules on additional pet details, and update all your rules at once.

Why We Built This

A booking page full of “call to book” isn’t much of a booking page. Until now, every blocked offer showed as unavailable, and many of your rules needed more than tags. Now you choose what pet owners see and write rules on pet details.

What It Means for You

  • Hide, block or waitlist. Hide offers a pet can’t book, block them (shown as unavailable with a prompt to call), or send pet owners to the waitlist.

  • Rules on pet details. Use weight, age, sex, spay/neuter status and temperament test results — no tag required.

  • Update all your rules at once. One request changes as many rules as you like — no editing them one by one.

How It Works

  • Describe the rule and say what pet owners see. For example, “Hide Active Dog Room for dogs over 80 lbs”. The preview shows who’s affected and what pet owners will see.

  • Switch existing rules in one request. Ask AI Rule Engine to “change all my blocked rules to hidden” or “hide the offer for rules A001 to A010.” Review the preview and publish — every rule updates at once.

  • Staff always see the full picture. In Goose admin, every offer stays visible to staff, even ones hidden from pet owners. When more than one rule applies, staff can see which one is in effect, and can override it, whether it’s a hide, a block or a waitlist.

A Few Things to Know

  • Your existing rules don’t change on — they stay as they are until you update them.

  • There’s no default — tell AI Rule Engine whether to hide, block or waitlist the offer.

  • When rules overlap on one offer, the order is: allow, then hide, then block, then waitlist.

  • Staff in Goose admin always see every offer, can tell which rule applies, and can override hide, block and waitlist.

  • If a pet is missing a detail a rule needs (like weight), the rule still applies to that pet — the offer is hidden, blocked or waitlisted, just as the rule says.

  • Rules apply when a booking is made or changed, not to confirmed bookings.

See It in Action

No action needed. Your existing rules keep working as they do today. When you’re ready to hide offers, switch them all at once (step 3). Questions? Reach out to support anytime.
