How to set up an Offer Blackout rule:

Step 1: Determine When the Blackout Applies:

  • Date Range: Choose between "All Dates" or specify particular dates for the blackout.

  • Days of the Week: Select the specific days for the blackout. Remember, at least one day MUST be selected for the rule to be active.

  • Occupancy Parameters: Decide if the blackout applies at "Any Occupancy" or set a specific occupancy level, such as activating the blackout when occupancy exceeds 50%.

Step 2: Select Affected Offers:

  • Decide which Main Offers the blackout rule should apply to, ensuring that only the relevant offers are influenced.

Step 3: Save and Name Your Rule:

  • Assign a unique name to your blackout rule and save it. Ensure the rule's name is distinct from other Revenue Optimization Rules, like Rate Adjustments and MBV.

Effective Use of the Offer Blackout Rule:

  • Strategic Planning: Use the blackout rule during peak demand periods or when you want to promote alternative offerings. Or if you need to temporarily take an Offer out of service.

  • Regular Monitoring: Keep an eye on how often and why you're using the blackout rule. Adjust your strategy based on customer feedback and booking trends.

  • Combine with Other Rules: Use the blackout rule in conjunction with other Revenue Optimization Rules for a comprehensive pricing and offering strategy.
