Introduction – What does this module offer?

The Main Menu module helps you customize the homepage of your Guestnet platform and present content in a structured way. It provides a modern, clear, and user-friendly experience – fully integrated into your Guestnet platform.


Feature Overview

These features are available in the Main Menu module:

  • Intro section with title, text, and image to personally welcome your guests

  • Groups to organize content thematically

  • Sliders to preview selected modules such as Weekly Program, Shop, Wellness & Beauty, and Events

  • Content pages for detailed information

  • Overview pages with sub-boxes for structured presentation

  • Quick Menu for fast navigation

  • Archive function to hide unused content


How to set up the Main Menu module

  1. Open the Dashboard in the backend.

  2. Click the gear icon in the upper right and select "Main Menu".

  3. Adjust the settings:

    • Intro Title and Intro Text for the welcome message

    • Intro Image for the header

  4. Manage the main menu:
    In the displayed menu, a group (1) is used, which contains several menu items (2). These can be arranged via expand and drag & drop to the desired position.

    • A Weekly Program teaser (3) can be added.

    • The Archive (4) contains all unassigned menu items.
      This archive function was introduced to simplify the main menu and allow for quick optimization.
      Modules placed in the archive are not visible to guests.
      To move modules from the archive into a specific group, click the gray dots on the left side of the desired box, hold and drag it to the expanded target group.

  5. Add groups to organize content thematically.

  6. Create sliders to preview content:

    • These can already display content directly on the page.

    • The following modules can be shown as sliders: Weekly Program, Shop, Wellness & Beauty, and Events. (See FAQ below)

  7. Add Content Pages or Overview Pages:

  8. Manage the Quick Menu for fast guest navigation. In the Quick Menu, the arrangement and the status (on/off) of individual Quick Menu items can be adjusted. These changes can be made without affecting the current version. Note: There are connections to the standard boxes. New quick menu items cannot be added, and existing links cannot be replaced.


    The Quick Menu will be further expanded with guest login.
    In the guest view, the Quick Menu looks like this

  9. Use the Archive function to hide content you don't need.

  10. Test the setup using a test booking or preview.



FAQ – Main Menu Module

How is the structure and order changed in the Main Menu?

In the Main Menu, the structure can be changed. You can customize the page structure by changing the position of individual boxes (menu items) in the main menu. To do this, press and hold the grey dots on the desired box and move it to the desired position using drag and drop. Please make sure that the corresponding group is expanded beforehand.

How is a new group added?

If you want to have multiple sub-boxes/tiles, choose “Add new group.”
By clicking it, a new group is added at the bottom of the “Manage Menu” section.

You can set a title for this tile group. Tiles can now be dragged up from the archive into the lined rectangle.
Groups can only be deleted if there are no tiles underneath them.

The modules of a group can be displayed either as boxes or as a slider:

How is a slider added and configured?

“Add new slider” lets you create a preview teaser.


By clicking it, a new slider is automatically created at the very bottom of “Manage Menu.”
Here, a title can be added to the slide. Furthermore, you can choose from multiple slides, including weekly program, events, wellness & beauty, and shop. The selected module then appears in the selection.

How to show or hide boxes?

Using the green toggle, groups or sliders can also be hidden temporarily.
All content underneath will not be displayed in the frontend.

Green icon > entry visible
White icon > entry hidden

How can content be deleted?

Groups and sliders can also be deleted. To do so, click the trash icon of the desired content.
If the trash icon is grayed out, it cannot be deleted because modules are assigned to the group. These must be moved first.

⚠️ Deleted groups and sliders cannot be restored.

What is in the archive and how can I view it?

The archive is a collection of hidden pages that are not currently needed but may be used later.


Individual modules can be dragged from the archive into the desired group using drag and drop. The group must be opened beforehand.
Likewise, content can be moved from groups into the archive via drag and drop.

What settings are possible in the modules?

In the Main Menu, you can aesthetically customize the various boxes. To do so, expand the desired group and click the pencil icon on the right of the desired box:

Then the following window opens:

Here you can make the following settings:

  • Translation: change the title per language

  • Status: by activating/deactivating the checkbox, you can choose for each language whether the box should appear in the guest view

  • Large Box: if this box is checked, the box will be displayed at double size

  • Hide on Info Terminal: this box will not be displayed on the touchscreen, only on mobile or desktop

  • Only on Info Terminal: this box will only be displayed on the touchscreen, not mobile or desktop

  • Only accessible with login: if this checkbox is enabled, the box is only accessible to guests who log in with their personal credentials via PMS system

This feature is a core function and part of all packages.
