How do I create a recording?

Messenger Pigeon helps you record lectures, upload files, take notes, and stay organized. Here’s how to get the most out of every feature.

1. Click **Record** from the home screen.

2. Hit the red **Record** button to start.

3. You’ll see the timer and visualizer move as audio is captured.

4. If there’s a break in class or the instructor asks you to stop recording for a moment (for example, during a confidential discussion), press the Pause button. When it’s time to continue, press Pause to resume recording.

5. When finished, click the **Checkmark** to save your session.

6. A message will appear asking if you’d like to save your recording. Click Proceed to continue.

7. You’ll be asked to enter a title for your recording (for example, “Biology Lecture – Week 3”).

Don’t worry — you can always rename it later if you change your mind.

Optional: Request Professional Notes

After saving, some users will see a prompt to Request Professional Notes.

This allows one of our trained note-takers to summarize your recording for you.

  • You can choose Request Notes to place an order right away.

Or select Maybe Later — you can always order notes later from your dashboard.
