Introduction
Our Messenger Pigeon plans have now been switched over to a licensing system. If any past users were assigned a specific subscription, that will be carried over to the appropriate license. The dashboard shows visual data related to usage, licenses purchased and the amount of notes ordered by students.

Dashboard Navigation
Create New User
Brings you straight to the user creation page. Note that this function is only applicable to students.
If new admins need to be created, you will need to do so via the Account tab.
Account > Organization Profile > Create admin (after scrolling down)
Manage Users
Brings you to the user list where you can also create users, edit their information and permissions etc.
Manage Licenses
Gives you an overview at how many licenses you have under your organization and how many you’ve used.
If you scroll down to the All Licenses section, you will see a list of all the licenses and you can either cancel their renewal or unassign a user/student from it.
Contact Support
Clicking on this function will trigger your Mail app (regardless of what kind of operating system you use), it will automatically connect to our Support’s email and the user just has to writer their message and send it, if their Mail app is connected to their preferred email address.
Legacy Demo (User type)
Any existing user and organization registered with Messenger Pigeon prior to March 2026 will not be affected by the 30-hour limit decrease. New organizations and their users associated will not be able to renew their hours. They only get five hours worth of recordings, after which they will not be able to record again, until their respective admins buy a license and assign the users to it. That’s the difference between “Demo” and “Legacy Demo”.
Buying Licenses
There are two ways to buy a license:
On the Dashboard, under the Data Usage Reports section click the Manage Seats button. This will take you straight to the ‘Shopping Cart’.
Alternatively (this is a longer way, but it is there), go to the Accounts tab, then select Billing and finally, Manage Seats.
Once you are on the page to add seats, you can enter the number of licenses you want to purchase in the respective text boxes in each column. Note that only annual license purchases provide discounts and free notes.
The other thing to take account of is that any free notes that come with the purchases only apply to users who are assigned licenses. If you have any users on Demo, their notes orders will still be charged even if you are entitled to free notes.
Assigning Licenses
There are two ways you can assign a license:
1. Via License tab
To assign a license, click on the Licenses tab at the top and click on the Assign License button
Choose the license you want from the drop down .
Select the user to assign the license to from the bottom dropdown.
2. Via Users tab
Click on the Users tab at the top and select View Users
You can choose an available license under the plan column, once you click it, it shows up as a dropdown menu and if there are any vacant licenses that are available for assignment, they will appear in that dropdown.
Just click on the one you want for that user.
It will save automatically and the plan change will be reflected.
Unassigning Licenses
To unassign a license, go to the License tab, scroll down and look for the license in question. Click the three dot button on the right (under the Action column) and a pop up will appear.
The pop up will show the specifications of that particular license and who it is assigned to, just so you know you have the right one.
There is an Unassign User button in that pop up.
After you press it, and return to the regular License page, you will notice that the student is no longer associated with that license.
After you unassign a license, you won’t be able to re-assign it to another user until the next month.
Cancelling Renewal
To cancel the renewal of a license (either monthly or annually), go to the License tab, scroll down to the All Licenses table and click the three dot icon under the Action column. A pop up will appear and you’ll want to hit the Cancel License Renewal button.
Upgrading vs. Downgrading
When you upgrade the license for a user, the new license type will kick in immediately. So the user will have access to the corresponding additional features.
If you downgrade a user, the changes will only kick in at the start of the next month. It will look like the user still has their prior license type because it has not ticked over to the downgraded license yet.
