With the current version of the Notes feature, the intended way to add a note is on the current day (Today).
We understand you might want to add or edit notes for past entries, and we'd first like to explain the thinking behind this design, followed by an advanced workaround for those who need it.
Our Philosophy: Capturing Your Authentic Journey
We're not trying to be strict β we're actually trying to create a space that encourages you to be real with yourself. The Notes feature is designed to capture your immediate, in-the-moment reflections about your habits.
We believe those immediate thoughts are like little time capsules of your real experiences, reflecting how you genuinely felt in that exact moment. It's not about being perfect; it's about being authentic and tracking your true journey.
Advanced Workaround: Manually Adding a Note for a Past Day
If you still need to add a note to a past entry, you can do so by temporarily changing your device's date.
β οΈ Disclaimer: This is an advanced workaround and not an official feature. Manually changing your device's date and time can temporarily affect other apps, calendars, and system functions. Please proceed with caution and be sure to change the date back immediately afterward.
Step-by-Step Guide:
Make sure the Habiify app is fully closed (swiped away from your app switcher).
Change the date of your device:
Go to your phone's Settings, navigate or directly search for Date & Time settings.
Turn off the "Set Time Automatically" toggle.
Manually change the date to the past day you want to add a note for.
Go to Habitify and add note to your habit:
Open Habitify. The main Journal screen will now show the list of the date you just set.
Find the habit, take along press, and choose Add Note. The note will be saved to that specific date.
CRITICAL: Reset your device's date:
Close the Habitify app again.
Return to Settings and navigate back to Date & Time settings.
Turn the "Set Time Automatically" toggle back ON. Your phone's date and time will now return to normal.
We hope this explanation and workaround help you get the most out of your journaling. It's all about celebrating your real, wonderful, and imperfect self.
