What is a good habit?

In Habitify, a habit is a behavior that you perform regularly, often unconsciously. It can be a simple action like drinking water or a more complex routine like exercising daily.

A good habit is one that helps you become a better version of yourself by improving your productivity, health, or overall well-being.

By incorporating positive habits into your daily life, you can create a more structured and fulfilling routine that leads to long-term success and happiness.

Add a good habit

To create a new positive habit in Habitify:

  • in the journal tab, tap + button on the date bar

  • choose "Create good habit"

Choose a template

Habitify has already made several templates for different activities. You can save the template right away, or do the adjustment.

Or you can use the option to create a custom habit and set everything from scratch.

Properties of a habit

When setting up a habit, you modify:

  • icon and name of habit

  • frequency of habit's repetition

  • goal

  • time in the day you do it

  • time for the app to remind you to do the habit

  • the date you start tracking your habit

icon & name

Name and icon together help you navigate through the habit list in both textual and visual ways.

You also can assign a color for the icon. The color will be the theme color of the habit's progress view on Progress tab and is Single Progress view.

repeat

Repeat is where you set the frequency of your habit appearing on your journal view as today's list.

You can set your habit to repeat:

  • on any day in a week

  • by interval of x days

  • on a specific date in a month

goal

Goal is how much you want to achieve within a day, a week or a month. Goal help you stay focused and motivated as you work towards your desired outcome.

Goal also gives you the parameters so you know when you complete your habit.

For each habit template, Habitify supports you with a different list of units that are suitable for tracking that activity.

time of day

Time of day includes Morning, Afternoon, and Evening.

This setting helps filter your habits by the time of day and shows the scheduled ones in the list "Time of Day".

reminders

Reminders are when you receive notifications on your habit.

There are 3 types of reminders:

  • Time-based reminders: set the time when you want to do your habit in a day.

  • Location-based reminders: get notified of your habits based on your current location.

  • Habit-stacking reminders: organize your habit in the stack and get reminded of a habit based on the achievement of the last one.

start date

The start date is the first date you begin tracking your habit. The habit only appears in the Journal since the start date.

You can set any date as the start date. You can choose a date in the past to re-record your previous achievement in the app.

Start tracking progress

Based on the start date and repeat settings, your habits will appear on the Journal tap.

You log your progress on the Journal view and track your overall progress in the Progress tab of all habits and the Single Progress view of each habit.
