Overview
If you see Habitify reminder banners but don’t hear a sound while the app is open on your iPhone, this is expected behavior on iOS. When an app is in the foreground, iOS typically suppresses notification sounds unless the app explicitly plays them.
Today, Habitify shows the banner while it’s open but does not play a reminder sound in the foreground.
Workarounds
Keep Habitify in the background: Press Home or swipe up to go Home, or lock your device. Sounds will play according to your iOS notification settings.
Use Apple Watch: If your iPhone is locked and your Watch is unlocked, reminders route to the Watch with haptics (and sound if enabled).
Recommended iPhone settings
iOS Settings > Notifications > Habitify > Configure:
Allow Notifications: ON,
Lock Screen/Notification Center/Banners: All ON,
Sounds: ON,
Time‑Sensitive ON (if available).
iOS Settings > Notifications > Scheduled Summary: Either exclude Habitify or set it to Immediate Delivery.
iOS Settings > Focus: Add Habitify to Allowed Apps for active Focus modes, or turn the Focus off.
Check the Ring/Silent switch or Control Center: make sure the phone isn’t on Silent, and increase volume.
Settings > Sounds & Haptics: raise “Ringer and Alerts” volume.
(Optional) Settings > General > Background App Refresh: ON for Habitify.
Apple Watch tips
Watch app on iPhone > Notifications > Habitify: “Mirror my iPhone” (recommended) or “Custom” with Alerts enabled.
Watch app > My Watch > Sounds & Haptics: Silent Mode OFF, Alert Volume up, Haptic Alerts ON (Prominent optional).
Routing rules: If your iPhone is unlocked, notifications go to the phone. If the phone is locked and your Watch is unlocked, they go to the Watch.
