When you integrate Habitify with your Apple Calendar, you will notice a new calendar named "Habitify V2" appears in your calendar list. Many users naturally want to customize this by changing its name or color to match their personal organization system.
This guide is to clarify how these settings are managed and why they function the way they do.
The Calendar Name: "Habitify V2"
First, it is important to know that the name "Habitify V2" is a default system identifier and cannot be changed.
Why can't I rename it?
This name is used by both Habitify and Apple Calendar to officially identify the data sync between our two services. Changing this name would break the integration, causing your habit events to no longer appear or update correctly. It must remain as "Habitify V2" for the connection to work reliably.
The Calendar Color: Assigned Automatically
You may also have noticed that the color for the "Habitify V2" calendar is assigned automatically and you cannot edit it directly within Apple Calendar's settings. This is also intentional behavior.
Why is the color automatic?
The color is assigned automatically by the system to help users who might be syncing multiple Habitify accounts to the same Apple Calendar.
For example, if you have a personal Habitify account and a work Habitify account both syncing to your iPhone's calendar, the system will create two "Habitify V2" calendars, each with a different, unique color. This allows you to easily distinguish the habit events from your personal account versus your work account at a glance.
