You can automate your tracking by connecting your habits in Habitify to Google's Health Connect service on your Android device.

This guide will show you how to set up a new habit that syncs data automatically, saving you time and keeping your progress accurate.

A Quick Note: Granting Permission

The very first time you set up a Health Connect habit, your phone's operating system will ask you to grant Habitify permission to read your health data.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Open the "Add Habit" Screen

From the main Journal view, tap the '+' (Add Habit) icon located on the date bar at the top of your screen.

Step 2: Switch to the "Health Connect" Tab

At the top of the "Add Habit" screen, you will see several tabs. Tap on the "Health Connect" tab.

Step 3: Choose Your Activity

You will see a list of all the activities and data types that Habitify can import from Health Connect. Tap on the activity you want to track.

Step 4: Configure and Save Your Habit

After selecting an activity, you'll be taken to the familiar habit creation screen. The "Sync with Health Connect" option will already be active.

All you need to do is set your Goal (e.g., 10,000 steps or 8 hours of sleep), set your Repeat schedule, and configure any Reminders you might want.

When you're finished, tap "Save."

See Health Connect Habit on Journal

You'll be able to easily distinguish habits that are linked and syncing data from Health Connect. These habits will be marked with a heart icon (β™₯) on the Journal view in Habitify.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Health Connect integration a Premium feature?

Yes, integrating with Google Health Connect is a feature available exclusively for our Premium users.

Can I write my data from Habitify back to Health Connect?

No. The synchronization is one-way only (from Health Connect to Habitify). This is to ensure there is no duplicated data, as your activities are already being recorded by their original source (like your watch or fitness app).

Can I manually update the status of a habit synced with Health Connect?

You have partial control. For a synced habit, you can manually mark it as "Skip" or "Fail." However, you cannot manually log progress or mark it as "Completed," as its progress is controlled entirely by the data from Health Connect.
