Automatically marking habits as skipped or failed in Habitify ensures accurate habit tracking, even when you forget to update manually. This feature maintains consistency and accountability while saving you time.
Why automate habit status?
Before diving into the steps, let's briefly discuss why automating habit status can be beneficial:
Consistency: it ensures your habit log reflects your actual performance, even on busy days.
Accountability: it helps you stay accountable by not allowing missed updates to distort your tracking.
Time-Saving: it reduces the need for manual updates, saving you time and effort.
How to set it up?
To enable the automation to skip or fail your habits:
In the Habitify app, go to the Settings tab
In Automation, open the Status Update section
Modify the time within the day when the app can execute the automation
In Mark Habits As, choose between Failed or Skipped
Skipped: Marks the habit as skipped, which means you intentionally chose not to perform it for a valid reason.
Failed: Marks the habit as failed, indicating that you didn’t complete it without a valid reason.
In Exclude, choose the habit(s) you don't want to run the automation on
In Status, switch the toggle to the right to enable the automation.
Special Note
This automation is only applied for goods habit with a repeat setting as daily.
Automation to skip or fail weekly habits, monthly habits, and bad habits is not available yet.
You can still manually update your habit status if needed. Automation settings are meant to assist, not replace, manual tracking entirely.
Periodically review your automation settings to ensure they still align with your goals and schedule.
