Supplementary feeds provide product information that supplements one or more of your primary data feed. If you manage your items on a partner platform like Shopify, a supplementary feed can enhance them with additional attributes for selling on Facebook and Instagram app that your partner platform may not support.
How to add a supplementary feed yourself in Commerce Manager
To upload a supplementary feed:
Go to Commerce Manager and select your catalog.
Open the Catalog tab and go to Data sources.
Under Supplementary feeds, click Add supplementary feed.
Note: Each primary feed can only be connected to one supplementary feed. If all of your primary feeds are already connected to supplementary feeds, this button may be grayed out. If this happens, click Upload file and update your existing supplementary feed instead of adding a new one.
Select Upload feed.
Choose Scheduled feed and Provide the link from Feedyio app. The link must begin with http://, https://.
Choose when and how often you want your data feed to be updated automatically. Select Next.
Select one or more main data feeds to connect this supplementary feed to. These are the data feeds that the supplementary feed will be supplementing, and they must contain the items you want to update using the supplementary feed. Make sure to connect the correct data feeds to avoid errors. If you’re not sure which data feeds to select, you can check them in Data sources first to see which items they contain. Then click Next.
Name your supplementary feed and select Upload.
Your new supplementary feed now appears in Data sources. You can select it to see an overview or manage its settings, including its upload schedule and the data feeds it’s connected to.
Set up a scheduled feed from a link
To upload a file hosted on your server or on a website such as Dropbox or Google Drive:
Enter the link where your file is hosted. The link must begin with http://, https://, ftp:// or sftp://. It must link to your file in CSV, TSV or XML (RSS/ATOM) format, not to a landing page on your website, Facebook Page or somewhere else. You can test the URL in your browser to make sure it downloads your file. The file size limit is 8 GB. If your URL starts with ftp:// or sftp:// and is password protected, enter your login details. When you’re finished, select Next.
