Account Groups are an easy way to group together customers/accounts. Once grouped together you can bulk apply tags, billing notes & account notes.
Default view - Account Groups by Aging buckets.
The total of accounts is based on the oldest aging bucket on an account.
For example, if a customer has 3 open invoices, the oldest being 90+ days, they would appear only in the total accounts for the Red 90+day aging bucket.
Custom Groups:
Custom Account groups can be used in a variety of ways. Customers can also be placed in multiple account groups.
Account groups by tag -
You can create a group that is specific to a tag. If for example you have customers tagged as ‘Do Not Service’ ‘Locked Bin’ ‘Broker Acct’ etc, you can filter your accounts by those tags and easily add everyone to one group.
Start by creating your new account group (For this example I will be creating a group for my ‘Deluxe Customers’)
With the group created, select the + button to add accounts.
Select the filter on the tags to select the specific one you’re looking for
Select all or some of the customers with that tag that you want to add to the group.
Let’s say for example you have a group of customers who you have tagged as ‘Senior Citizen’. You can group all of those accounts together. If you also have a group of customers who you have identified as ‘Veterans’ you can create a second group and include those who may also be in your Senior group.
Create a group based on bill profile -
Lets say you have several Residential bill profiles, but would like to group all Residential accounts together.
Create your new group
Select the + button to add accounts
Filter by specific bill profiles
Select all
Add to group
Another great way to use Account Groups is for your Construction companies or Broker accounts.
Example: Acme Construction
I’ve added both Active and Deactivated accounts. This is a great way to review that all profiles for this customer are set to the correct bill profile. This view will also allow you to see the grand total that the account might owe, combining all open invoices in one view.
Example: Account Groups by Broker
Account groups also allow you to bulk add tags, account notes and billing notes.
