Who Can Use This Guide?

  • Foundation membership customers

  • Hub Admin and Hub User roles can complete the Hub-based setup steps below

  • All team members (including Mobile Only roles) will use the HazardCo App day to day

1. Download the HazardCo App

Get the App on your phone, use it as part of your everyday work, and make sure your whole team does the same.

  1. Download the HazardCo App from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

  2. Log in using the details we emailed you when your membership was activated.

Please Note: If you haven't received your login details, or you're not sure, call us on 020 4571 3920 and we'll sort it out.

2. Download Your Health and Safety Policy and Procedures

Your Health and Safety Policy and Procedures (P&P) document sets out how work should be done safely. It helps reduce the risk of injury or ill health and shows your commitment to a healthy workplace.

  1. Log into the HazardCo Hub.

  2. Click Company Settings.

  3. Open and download your Policy and Procedures document.

3. Complete a Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS)

Complete a RAMS in the HazardCo App before any high-risk construction work starts.

  1. Open the HazardCo App.

  2. Start a new RAMS for the high-risk work being carried out.

  3. Work through the prompts to record the hazards, controls, method statement and people involved.

  4. Tap Save.

Please Note: Your membership includes ready-made RAMS templates you can edit. You can also save your own RAMS as templates for jobs you do regularly.

4. Add Your Team

Set your team up on the HazardCo App so they can help you manage Health and Safety day to day.

  1. Log into the Hub.

  2. Go to Company Details.

  3. Scroll to Manage Team and click Add Team Member.

  4. Enter their first name, last name, email address and phone number, then choose their role.

  5. Click Save.

Please Note: If you can't see the Manage Team section, call or email us for help.

5. Check Your Health and Safety Documentation Schedule

Documentation is one of the main ways to show that Health and Safety is active on site. It gives you evidence for incident investigations, HSE inspections and insurance claims, and helps you share lessons learned with your team.

As a trade or subcontractor, aim for these benchmarks:

  • Risk Assessments: 1 per week minimum (good practice: 1 per day)

  • Toolbox Talks: 2 per month minimum (good practice: 4 per month)

  • RAMS: for all high-risk work

  • Incident Reports: whenever an incident or near miss happens

6. Complete Your Health and Safety Review

Our Health and Safety Checklist is a good place to start. It walks you through the basics and shows you exactly what you need to set up. It's split into 5 simple areas: Work, People, Incidents, Emergency Procedures and Administration.

  1. Work through each of the 5 areas, focusing on what applies to your business.

  2. Start with the highest-priority items so the most important things are in place quickly.

Please Note: Not everything will apply to every business. Skip anything that isn't relevant to your work.

7. Show You're Serious About Health and Safety

Once you're up and running, download the HazardCo Member badge to add to your website or share on social media.

  1. Add it to your website, email signature or social media profiles.
