All team members (including Mobile Only roles) will use the HazardCo App day to day
1. Update Your Company Details
Make sure your Health and Safety documents show your business information.
Log into the Hub.
Go to Company Settings.
Update your company details and click Save.
Learn more: Updating Your Company Details
2. Download Your Health and Safety Policy and Procedures
Your Health and Safety Policy and Procedures (P&P) document sets out how work should be done safely. It helps reduce the risk of injury or ill health and shows your commitment to a healthy workplace.
Log into the HazardCo Hub.
Click Company Settings.
Open and download your Policy and Procedures document.
3. Add Your Contractors and Send Pre-Qualification Requests
Managing contractors comes with risk. HazardCo helps protect your business with an automated system that pre-qualifies contractors and checks their insurance, trade qualifications and more.
In the Hub, add your contractors and send them a pre-qualification request.
You'll get an email when a contractor submits their pre-qualification.
Go back into the Hub to review the submission. You can see the pre-qualification status of all your contractors at a glance.
Accept or reject the submission. If you reject it, add a comment explaining why so the contractor can resubmit.

4. Set Up Your First Project
You can buy Projects whenever you need them:
In the Hub, order a new Project for a current or upcoming job.
Enter the key details: site address, emergency information and hazards.
HazardCo helps you work out what else to include and provides best practice controls.
This creates a detailed Construction Phase Plan (CPP) for your site.
Save your first Project as a template so future Projects are quicker to set up.
Once your Project is set up, you can:
Get site signage with a unique QR code for your site hoarding or fence
Have workers use the free App to scan in and out, complete inductions and add certifications
Create Health and Safety reports using guided templates
Share documents and talk with your on-site team through the Digital Site Noticeboard
Monitor who is on site and track Health and Safety activity levels
Please Note: If you haven't already, download the HazardCo App from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

5. Kick Off Your First Toolbox Talk
Once your Health and Safety system is set up, tell your team about it and get them involved. Use the Toolbox Talk feature in the HazardCo App to record your regular team discussions about the work and Health and Safety matters.
Tips for your first Toolbox Talk:
Introduce HazardCo as your new Health and Safety system and explain that you've partnered with HazardCo to strengthen how you manage safety on site.
Set out the key expectations: everyone signs in and out of site every day, reports hazards and speaks up about unsafe work.
Agree shared goals for regular Site Reviews, Toolbox Talks and open safety communication.
Remind your team to complete RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statement) in the App for any high-risk work.

6. Check Your Health and Safety Documentation Schedule
Documentation is one of the main ways to show that Health and Safety is active on site. It gives you evidence for incident investigations, HSE inspections and insurance claims, and helps you share lessons learned with your team. You can find all the Health and Safety documentation you create with HazardCo in the Hub.
We recommend aiming for the documentation benchmarks recommended for your business.

7. Complete Your Health and Safety Review
Our Health and Safety Checklist is a good place to start. It walks you through the basics and shows you exactly what you need to set up. It's split into 5 simple areas: Work, People, Incidents, Emergency Procedures and Administration.
Open the Health and Safety Review.
Work through each of the 5 areas, focusing on what applies to your business.
Start with the highest-priority items so the most important things are in place quickly.
Please Note: Not everything will apply to every business. Skip anything that isn't relevant to your work.
