The notification provider controls all system emails sent from headful. This includes:
News from the Newscenter
User invitations
Password reset emails
If no notification provider is configured, the default headful Brevo provider is used. This provider handles all outgoing system emails.
Alternatively, you can connect your own notification provider.
Supported Providers
The following options are available:
Brevo
Mailchimp / Mandrill
Custom SMTP server
Brevo and Mailchimp/Mandrill are preconfigured. Only minimal configuration steps are required to connect your own account.
System Logic
The notification provider is configured system-wide
If no custom configuration is set, the headful Brevo provider remains active
When using Brevo or Mailchimp/Mandrill, templates are managed in the external system
When using an SMTP server, templates are configured and designed directly in the headful dashboard
For external providers, headful accesses templates via API
The provider handles the email delivery. headful triggers and controls the content logic.
Preparation in the External Email System
This preparation is required when using Brevo or Mailchimp/Mandrill:
Create the required templates in the respective system
Define the relevant email types, such as:
News Records
News Groups
User invitation
Password reset
Generate an API key
The template IDs or names are later configured in the dashboard.
When using an SMTP server, no external template creation is required, as templates are managed directly in the headful dashboard.
Step-by-Step: Configure a Notification Provider
Open the dashboard
Navigate to the notification settings
Select the desired notification type
Choose the provider:
Mailchimp / Mandrill
Brevo
SMTP
Enter the required information:
API key (for Brevo or Mailchimp/Mandrill)
Sender email address
Sender name
Date format
Template assignment
Save the configuration
After saving, the notification provider is active.
