Notification Provider

Configure which provider is used to send system emails such as news, user invitations, or password resets from headful.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

The notification provider controls all system emails sent from headful. This includes:

  • News from the Newscenter

  • User invitations

  • Password reset emails

If no notification provider is configured, the default headful Brevo provider is used. This provider handles all outgoing system emails.

Alternatively, you can connect your own notification provider.

Supported Providers

The following options are available:

  • Brevo

  • Mailchimp / Mandrill

  • Custom SMTP server

Brevo and Mailchimp/Mandrill are preconfigured. Only minimal configuration steps are required to connect your own account.

System Logic

  • The notification provider is configured system-wide

  • If no custom configuration is set, the headful Brevo provider remains active

  • When using Brevo or Mailchimp/Mandrill, templates are managed in the external system

  • When using an SMTP server, templates are configured and designed directly in the headful dashboard

  • For external providers, headful accesses templates via API

The provider handles the email delivery. headful triggers and controls the content logic.

Preparation in the External Email System

This preparation is required when using Brevo or Mailchimp/Mandrill:

  1. Create the required templates in the respective system

  2. Define the relevant email types, such as:

    • News Records

    • News Groups

    • User invitation

    • Password reset

  3. Generate an API key

The template IDs or names are later configured in the dashboard.

When using an SMTP server, no external template creation is required, as templates are managed directly in the headful dashboard.

Step-by-Step: Configure a Notification Provider

  1. Open the dashboard

  2. Navigate to the notification settings

  3. Select the desired notification type

  4. Choose the provider:
