Drivers allow your computer to recognize and communicate with your phone. If the drivers aren’t installed, you may receive a connection error and a link to download them manually.
This article explains how to install Apple or Android drivers on your computer if they were blocked or skipped during the installation of the Hearsay Extractor.
When to install drivers
If your phone isn’t connecting to the Hearsay Extractor, and you see an error message with a link to install drivers, follow the instructions below. Drivers are created by the manufacturer and are required for your computer to connect to your phone.
On a PC (Windows)
Install drivers from the link provided in the error message.
Click the driver link in the error message from the Hearsay Extractor.
When prompted, download and open the driver installer file.
If Windows blocks the install, click More info, then click Run anyway.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation.
Once installed, restart your computer.
Reopen the Hearsay Extractor and reconnect your phone.

On a Mac
Install drivers from the link provided in the error message.
Click the driver link in the error message from the Hearsay Extractor.
Download and open the installer file.
If your Mac blocks the app, go to System Settings > Privacy & Security.
Scroll down and click Allow next to the blocked app or developer name.
Complete the installation steps, then restart your computer.
Reopen the Hearsay Extractor and reconnect your phone.
