This article covers how to open a case, access uploaded conversations, and review the data shared by the custodian. Once the client’s extraction upload is complete, the extraction code creator receives an automated email notification letting them know the messages are ready for review in the portal.
How to review and export shared conversations
Step 1: Log in
When custodians share conversations from an extraction, the account holder who created the extraction code will receive an email once the upload is complete.
Go to usehearsay.com/login and log in to your account.
Tip: Messages may not appear in your portal immediately, even if the Extractor shows the upload as complete. Processing usually takes only a few minutes but can take longer for large extractions with many conversations or attachments.
Step 2: Open the case
From your dashboard, click the case name to open it and view the shared data.
Step 3: Select the data source
Under Recent Uploads, click the name of the data source to open the extracted conversations.
You can also click Case Data to view all extraction codes and data source statuses.
See How to manage case data for more details.
Step 4: Review Conversations
On the left side of the screen, you’ll see a list of all uploaded conversations. Click any conversation to open it and view the messages inside.
Within each conversation, you can:
View the full message history, including timestamps and participants
See both the original and updated versions of edited iPhone messages, along with metadata
Preview pictures, videos, attachments, and voice memos
Click the Cloud download icon next to any media file to download the original file (metadata included)
