The Case Data Dashboard provides a centralized view of all data sources connected to a case. From here, you can create new data requests, check upload status, view custodian details, and edit extraction codes. Each tab in the dashboard shows different parts of your collection process.
New Request
The + New Request button lets you create a new extraction code and define the data source for collection.
When you click + New Request, you’ll:
You’ll be redirected to fill out the Create Data Collection Request form.
After submitting, an extraction code will be generated for the custodian to complete their collection.
Once the request is created, it will appear in the Case Data dashboard with its own status.
Uploaded Data Sources
This tab displays all data sources that have already been uploaded for the case.
Columns include:
Data Source – The device or source of data (e.g., iPhone, Android).
Status – Whether the data has been shared and is available for review.
Custodian – The individual who provided the data.
Upload Date / Size – When the upload occurred and how much data was shared.
Due Date – If a request was tied to the source.
View – Opens the uploaded data.
All Sources Requested
This tab lists every data source that has been requested for the case, including both completed and outstanding requests.
Columns include:
Data Source – The device or type of data requested.
Status – Shows progress of the request (see status definitions below).
Custodian – The person responsible for providing the data.
Upload Date / Size – Updates once data is provided.
Due Date – The deadline for the request.
All Requests & Codes
This tab displays all extraction codes created for the case and their current status.
Columns include:
Custodian – The individual the request was issued to.
Status – Current state of the request.
Code – The extraction code used to upload data.
Due Date – When the data must be provided.
Requested Data – Type of data requested (e.g., Mobile Device).
View/Edit – Manage request details.
To issue a new request, click New Request in the top-right corner.
Status Definitions
Data Request Statuses
Pending: One or more requested data sources are missing.
Overdue: One or more requested data sources are missing and it is past the due date provided.
Completed: All of the requested data sources have been uploaded by the client or the team.
Data Source Statuses
Not Started: The custodian has not started the process of collecting this data.
Backed up: The data has been collected and preserved, but it has not been shared to the portal.
Shared: The data has been shared from the collection to your account for review.
