How to mark a conversation as Hot Data

Marking a conversation as Hot Data lets you quickly access important threads or data sources from the Case Home dashboard.

This article explains how to mark or unmark a conversation as Hot Data in Hearsay. When a conversation is marked, it appears in the Hot Data tab on the Case Home dashboard, allowing you to reopen it instantly with one click.


Before You Begin

The Hot Data tab on the Case Home dashboard will be empty until at least one conversation is marked as Hot Data. Once a conversation is marked, it will appear here for quick access.


How to Mark a Conversation as Hot Data

Step 1: Identify the conversation

When reviewing data, locate the conversation you want to mark and open it in the review panel.

Step 2: Mark as Hot Data

Click the fire icon 🔥 at the top of the conversation window.

The icon will highlight, indicating the conversation has been flagged as Hot Data.

Step 3: View Hot Data in Case Home

Return to Case Home and click the Hot Data tab.


You’ll see all conversations marked as Hot Data listed for easy access. Each entry displays the conversation name and message count.


Unmark Hot Data (Optional)

To remove a conversation from Hot Data, click the fire icon 🔥 again. The icon will return to its inactive state, and the conversation will disappear from the Hot Data tab.
