Overview
Helios Horizon is Helios’ AI-powered research assistant. It allows you to ask questions about commodities, markets, pricing, climate risk, and trade using natural language, and receive detailed, data-backed responses drawn from across the Helios platform.
Helios Horizon is designed to support both exploratory research and targeted analysis. You can use it to quickly surface insights without manually navigating multiple tabs, or to go deeper into specific questions using its advanced research mode.
Helios Horizon is especially useful when you want to:
Ask cross-cutting questions that span multiple tabs
Explore market dynamics without manually navigating the platform
Get explanations or summaries of trends
Support trading or procurement decisions with AI-assisted analysis
It works best as a companion to the rest of the Helios platform, helping you connect insights across climate, pricing, supply, and trade.

When you first open Helios Horizon, you’ll land on its home screen.
Quick Prompts
At the top of the page, you’ll see a set of quick prompts. These are pre-built starting points designed to help you begin if you’re not sure exactly how to phrase your question.
You can:
Click any quick prompt to automatically populate the question field
Use these prompts as inspiration and edit them before submitting
Quick prompts are especially useful for first-time users or when exploring new topics.
Asking a Question
If you already know what you want to ask, you can type directly into the text box at the bottom of the page.
For example:
Questions about pricing, such as prices for cocoa in Côte d’Ivoire
Market behavior questions
Climate- or trade-related research questions
Once your question is entered:
Click Deep Search.
Helios Horizon begins processing your request.
While Helios Horizon is processing a question, you can:
Monitor progress in real time
Stop the question if needed using the stop control
This is helpful if you realize you want to rephrase the question or switch topics.
Different Modes
Deep Research Mode (Default)
Helios Horizon runs in a deep research mode, which means:
Response times may be longer than a basic chatbot
The platform shows progress updates as it works through the question
You can see what Helios Horizon is doing at each stage of the analysis
This approach prioritizes accuracy and depth over speed and is designed for research-quality responses rather than quick summaries.
Trader Mode
You can toggle Trader Mode on or off at any time.
Trader Mode uses agents optimized specifically for:
Exchange-traded commodities
Futures contracts
Spreads and market structure questions
Trading-related analysis
Turn Trader Mode on when your questions focus on futures pricing or trading strategy. Turn it off for broader procurement, supply, or climate-related questions.
Saved Prompts
Below the question input, you’ll see your saved prompts.
Saved prompts allow you to:
Reuse questions you ask frequently
Quickly rerun common analyses
Maintain consistency in recurring research workflows
If you know you’ll want to revisit a question regularly, saving it here makes future access faster.

Helps keep research threads separate
Understanding Helios Horizon Responses
Once Helios Horizon finishes processing your question, the completed response appears directly in the chat window. Each response follows a consistent structure designed to make complex analysis easier to review, validate, and act on.
Response Structure
Each answer typically includes:
A summary - A high-level overview that quickly explains the key takeaway from the analysis.
Detailed analysis and data breakdown - A deeper explanation that walks through relevant data, trends, and supporting information when available. This section provides the reasoning behind the summary and is intended for users who want to understand the full context.
Citations - Helios Horizon includes citations wherever possible so you can see what data or sources were used in forming the response. This helps validate conclusions and makes it easier to reference the information elsewhere.
Suggested next steps - Many responses include follow-up ideas, such as additional questions to ask or related areas to explore. These suggestions can help guide further analysis.
You can continue the conversation directly below the response by asking follow-up questions. Helios Horizon will retain the context of the discussion and build on previous answers.
Interacting With a Response
For every response, you have several options to manage and reuse the information.
You can:
Copy the response to paste it into documents, emails, or reports
Export the response to PDF for sharing or recordkeeping
Provide feedback using thumbs-up or thumbs-down controls
These tools make it easy to incorporate Helios Horizon’s analysis into your existing workflows.
Providing Feedback on Responses
Helios Horizon allows you to give direct feedback on each answer.
If you found the response helpful:
Select the thumbs-up option
Optionally note why the response was useful (for example, clear explanation or strong data support)
If the response was not helpful:
Select the thumbs-down option
Choose a reason explaining what didn’t work
If none of the predefined reasons apply, select “Other” and enter your own explanation
This feedback helps improve future responses and ensures the tool continues to align with user needs.
Time Saved Indicator
At the top corner of the Helios Horizon interface, you’ll see a time saved indicator once you begin asking questions.
This metric estimates how much analyst time Helios Horizon has saved by completing research tasks on your behalf. The estimate reflects how long a comparable analysis might take if done manually or assigned to an analyst.
For example:
A complex, multi-factor commodity analysis might normally take several hours
Helios Horizon completes the same work in minutes
As you continue the conversation, ask follow-up questions, or add more context, the time saved value increases to reflect the cumulative effort Helios Horizon has handled for you.
This feature helps quantify the efficiency gains from using Helios Horizon as part of your research and decision-making process.
