Helios Horizon Widget

Using and accessing the Horizon Widget

Written by Brooke Schuyler

The Helios Horizon Widget allows you to use Helios Horizon without leaving the page you’re currently on. It’s designed for users who want to ask questions, run research, or check past responses while continuing to navigate CommodiTracker.

The widget provides access to the same core functionality as the full Helios Horizon page, but in a compact, collapsible format that stays available as you move through the platform.

The Helios Horizon Widget is especially useful when you want to:

  • Ask questions without interrupting your workflow

  • Run background research while reviewing data elsewhere

  • Quickly reference or continue past conversations

  • Use Helios Horizon as a side-by-side assistant while navigating tabs

It works best as a companion to the main platform, allowing you to stay focused while still leveraging AI-driven insights.

Where to Find the Widget

The Helios Horizon Widget is available on every page in the platform except the Helios Horizon page itself.

You’ll find it in the bottom-right corner of the screen, represented by the Horizon icon.

Opening the Widget

To open the widget:

  1. Click the Horizon icon in the bottom-right corner.

  2. The widget expands to show your current or most recent chat.

If you already have a question running, the widget will open directly to that active conversation.

Viewing and Resuming Past Chats

When the widget is open, you can view previous chats directly within it.

You can:

  • Scroll through past conversations

  • Click into an older chat to review the response

  • Resume a previous conversation and continue asking follow-up questions

This makes it easy to return to earlier research without navigating to the main Helios Horizon page.

Starting a New Chat

You can start a new conversation directly from the widget.

To do this:

  1. Select the option to start a new chat within the widget.

  2. Type your question into the input field.

  3. Submit the question using Deep Search.

New chats started in the widget are saved to your Helios Horizon chat history, just like chats started on the full page.

Asking Questions from the Widget

The widget supports the same types of questions as Helios Horizon, including:

  • Commodity pricing questions

  • Climate risk analysis

  • Trade and supply questions

  • Trading-related questions

If you are asking a trading-focused question, such as one involving futures, spreads, or market positioning, you can turn Trader Mode on within the widget. For broader research or procurement-related questions, Trader Mode can remain off.

Once your question is entered, click Deep Search to begin processing.

Running Deep Search in the Background

One of the main benefits of the Helios Horizon Widget is the ability to run deep research while continuing to use the platform.

After submitting a question:

  • You can collapse the widget

  • Continue navigating to other tabs, such as Climate, Supply, Trade, or Prices

  • The research continues running in the background

You do not need to stay on the widget for the question to complete.

Notifications and Completion Indicators

When Helios Horizon finishes answering your question, the widget provides several visual and audio cues to notify you:

  • The widget icon begins to shake

  • The icon changes color

  • A sound plays to indicate the response is ready

You can then reopen the widget to view the completed answer.
